Wouldn’t it be nice to receive something Apple for Christmas? Oh yes, we all would love one of those trademark Apple products, especially the new Apple iPhone 7, or perhaps, one of the much talked about new and improved Apple watch!
Tim Cook is quite happy with the reception of Apple Watch in the market. The Apple CEO told Reuters the gadget set a sales record during the first week of holiday shopping and is on track for its best quarter yet.
“Our data shows that Apple Watch is doing great and looks to be one of the most popular holiday gifts this year,” Cook responded to an email from the news team. Cook also mentioned that Apple Watch’s sales has reached a new benchmark, which beats all together and measures the number of units actually sold to consumers compared with the quantity distributed to retailers.
“Sales growth is off the charts. In fact, during the first week of holiday shopping, our sell-through of Apple Watch was greater than any week in the product’s history. And as we expected, we’re on track for the best quarter ever for Apple Watch,” he said.
Apple unveiled the second generation of its Apple Watch in September. The device, priced at $370, seems similar to the first model by the looks of it, but comes with one notable improvement: It’s waterproof enough for swimmers.
Apple doesn’t report sales data for the ‘Apple Watch’ department, which incidentally is the very first product released under the Cook management, who needs to show that the company can still create lust-worthy, must-have products in new categories.
IDC, the technology research firm, reported that Apple shipped just above a million units of the Apple Watch in the three-month period ended in September, a decline of 71 percent from this time one year ago.
Their report came just after Cook’s statements.
Apple has not responded to a much more comprehensive sale report request just yet, but hopefully after the holidays, we will get a peek inside the tech giant – Apple’s financial report.
