NEW DELHI: In the capital of Delhi High Court few days back heard an appeal filed against Farooq Abdullah (National Conference president) looking for action for his reported divisive comments on (PoK) Pakistan-occupied Kashmir which belonged to the neighboring country. “Ours is a closed in state among 3 nuclear countries which includes: India, China and Pakistan. I, for that reason, consider Azadi is neither possible nor practical. The piece of the state which comes under Pakistan goes to them as our part goes to India,” the ex- Jammu and Kashmir CM had stated in Srinagar.
Abdullah on last Saturday stated that, an independent Kashmir was “erroneous” as the closed in valley was bounded by 3 nuclear powers – Pakistan, China, and India. He had also declared that PoK goes to Pakistan and that “this is not going to transform”, it doesn’t matter how many wars Pakistan and India fought in opposition to each other.
The comments had kicked up blizzard with the Bharatiya janta party and its NDA associates reacting sharply aligned with it. Maulana Ansar Raza (Delhi-based social activist) filed the PIL on November 17, in the year 2017. He has sought “urgent investigation” and “take into custody” of the Srinagar MP claiming that he privileged Pakistan and snubbed India.
The appeals allege that Farooq Abdullah “all the time makes such contentious comments and proclamations by which the state and its people feel humiliated of such human being as Indian citizens”. In Bihar court on November 13, in the year 2017 had declared filing of an FIR in opposition to the National Conference supreme on charges of sedition for his statements on PoK. Reacting to the ex- Jammu and Kashmir CM’s remark, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who is also holds the position as the national president of the Janata Dal Party, had stated “that whole Jammu and Kashmir, including the regions under Pakistani livelihood, is a vital part of India”.
