Fadi Fawaz’s nephew has told of how his devastated uncle called him after finding his lover George Michael dead in bed on Christmas Day.
DJ Josh Fawaz says that he picked up a call from his uncle, only to hear him crying on the other end of the phone after he had called emergency services. Josh revealed he sobbed: “Oh God, I think he’s dead”. He also said that any suspicion surrounding his uncle over the megastar’s death was told nonsense, and that Fadi had tried to give him CPR when he found his boyfriend unresponsive at his home in Oxfordshire.
How will I live without him?
He revealed that Fadi had been crying hysterically and said he did not know how he was going to live without George, who he had been in a relationship with for six years. Josh said that, apart from emergency services, he was the first person to be informed of George’s death. Josh also hit out at descriptions of his uncle as a “leech,” saying that there had been nothing but love in the relationship between the couple, and that Fadi would never have done anything to hurt George.
Fadi has already been interviewed by police, spending five hours telling detectives what he knew about the death and the days leading up to it. Since Careless Whisper singer George passed away, a carpet of flowers has grown outside his home in north London, and floral tributes cover his Land Rover, which is still sitting outside the property.
Immediately following his death, the Wham! star’s manager said he had passed away as a result of a heart attack. However, an initial post mortem has proved inconclusive and police have ordered that further tests be carried out, including the preparation of a toxicology report. Test results are expected to take a number of weeks.
