Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors Inc. on tweet of a fan of Tesla Motors, announced the launch of model 3 with a ludicrous mode, which aids Tesla vehicles to go 0-60 mph in less than three seconds.
The reply to a fan’s tweet by Mr. Musk on Friday, about the electric car mentioned that this major upgrade was inexpensive for $35,000. Although, Ludicrous Mode is available for Model X and Model S but not for base models. The CEO highlighted that the owners of the Tesla cars can pay $2500 for the upgrade and avail the feature to go 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Musk has revealed earlier that Model 3 will be able to go 0-60 mph in six seconds, but in his tweet it was confirmed that Mode will allow the drivers to accelerate faster than what was initially mentioned.
Although, the price has been announced but the size of the battery remains unknown, this leaves one in a dilemma as to how fast the car can be accelerated. Unlike Model X and Model S the body will made of steel and not aluminum, however, the battery is anticipated to be smaller in size considering the size of Model 3, which is 80 percent of the length of previous Sedans manufactured by Tesla. Although, Tesla Sedan owners may have a tamed experience but they may not be used to. Nonetheless, considering the price Tesla users will definitely be having something worth the amount they will be spending, as they will be getting a feature of a sports car.
The date of launch remains a mystery but the car design have been spoken about. The new car will have a curved structure made of carbon fiber from windshield, this will be used to decrease the height the height of the car making it more aerodynamic. An integrated spoiler will be placed on the rear of the car. The battery packs will be produced in a joint venture between Nanotech Energy Inc. and Fisker Inc.
Tesla revealed that Model 3 reservation were all on preorder bases. However, certain orders were canceled in fear of duplicate orders. The production of Model 3 with Ludicrous feature is expected to take place in 2017. Despite the fact that the idea of the car is one of its kind but it does have direct competitors.
